Handmade by Nazneen

Hi Peeps!!

Hope all is well!!

Couple of days ago, came across of an interesting challenge - Challenge # 12 - Domestic Violence Awareness - Purple Ribbon hosted by Brown Sugar Challenge Blog.

Domestic violence, if not all, most of us would have faced or would have seen our loved ones/friends suffering from the same.

Not many of us know, that October is not only famous for Breast Cancer Awareness but also to another great cause i.e., Domestic Violence Awareness, identified by the purple ribbon.

Domestic violence can be of any form, verbal, emotional and physical. There are varied reasons anticipated which can trigger such uneasiness.. in a family or in a relationship. Few of the common causes are - Jealousy, stress, need for dominance or control and other Psychological factors.

Best sought method in overcoming the abuse to a certain extent is to seek help, counseling and guidance. And most importantly is to Break the cycle. Because It all starts with us. Reach out for a hand that is always there.

So here's my completely "handmade" card that i have created and would be linking to the challenge mentioned above.

As you can see, I have made a split card. Wherein I have added the same girl's image twice, but the image is differently coloured.(I hope the image is coloured well :-( !! )

To further explain the card:

Left Side of the Card - Image 1 :

Depicts an abused girl, who is hurt. I have also added the text- "ABUSED" on her shirt to further explain the girl's state. In the background, you will see the ghostly figure that depicts the abuser who has abused the girl emotionally (broken heart) and physically (wounds). I have also added the hand made Tagline -> SILENCE IS VIOLENCE.

Right Side of the Card - Image 2 :

Depicts the same girl who has now fought against abuse.I have also added the text- "SURVIVOR" on her shirt to further explain that the girl has put efforts against abuse and has arised as a survivor. I have added the brighter background(with sun and clouds) to show that life is now happier. I have also added the Purple Ribbon and added the Tagline ->STOP DOMESTIC VIOLENCE.

I hope the Card is found to be apt for the Challenge, it is a small effort from my end to spread Domestic Violence Awareness.

Hello Peeps!!

Recently, i was chosen amongst fabulous five and also to be the Guest Designer at Hands 2 Hearts Challenges Blog for October Challenge.

Super Glad :)) because this is my first time guest designing!!

The current theme for October is A Precious Child, Do hop on over to the blog to play along and yes there are some nice prizes too for the winner.

So here's my GD entry for it.

Yet again, made a different card :)
                                                             Back card rotation - 1

                                                          Back card rotation - 2

                                                            Back card rotation - 3

We are 3 sisters, so making something with girl child (fairy) seemed to be the best option :)
As always I Hand cut the card and made it as a rotating card (without the help of any template).

Yes, a Rotating Card.. The front circular base which remains stationary has a cute baby girl fairy image.. a freebie found over internet that i have tried coloring with a small butterfly.

The back base is rotatable (do observe the difference in the above three images). This has smaller circles at the ends representing the few things that are most valued in childhood :).. the books, milk bottle, hair bands :).etc .All these are hand cut to give the 3D effect.
Have also added the handcut tag with a sentiment :)

And not to forget.. this card is dedicated to all the girls :))

Also submitting the card for the following challenges:

Hi Peeps,

Back again with a square card :))

This card is inspired with the current challenge 2TC27 ~ Farm Livin' is the Life for Me! hosted by Twisted Tuesday Challenges that i am linking this card to :)).

This is the first time that i have participated in this challenge :))

As always, i have manually cut out all the objects placed in the card, from the house, to the animals and the trees :))

And have additionally added the hand cut grass (for the twist).

Hope it is liked :)

Linking the project to Z for Zoo hosted by ABC Challenge and October Challenge - Animal Magic hosted by Penny Black and More.

Looking forward for the feedback.

And many thanks for stopping by.

Cheers,

Nazneen

Hi Peeps!!

I am back again and this time.. with a CAS card.. Clean and Simple :))

This is my first time into making a card of this type, which i feel somewhere suits my style of card making, because until now, i have been working on a single layer card.

So here it is :))

The sketch template is inspired by the current challenge CAS(E) this Sketch! Challenge #1 hosted by CAS(E) this Sketch that i am linking this card to.

For this card, i have incorporated the paper quilling. Quilling is an art that requires patience.. and the end results are worth the effort :))

I have added 3 leaves (modified teardrops with alternate greens) with a pink bud (teardrop) across.. and again the 3 leaves.. with the bloomed pink flower :) with the hand-written sentiment.

A closer view:

The message that i am trying to give by this card is - "LOVE".. which is the ultimate emotion - is like the flower that emerges from a bud.
But for it to bloom.. you have got to let it grow..and this requires time and effort..

Since this project also contains leaves.. as one the major component, i am also linking it to Week #14: LEAF hosted by CASology :)

Also linking it to Make Your Own Flowers hosted by Total Paper Crafts Friday Challenge

Looking forward to know the feedback!!

And thanks so much for stopping by!!

Until Next time, Stay safe and Stay happy!!

Cheers,
Nazneen

Hey Peeps..

Me back again.. :))

I am offlate inspired to again do a card of a different type..
and what best than to incorporate "many" of the same thing into a card.. LOL

Confused??

Well, all i meant was..i have tried incorporating 4 squares into a square shaped card :)

So here's my one of its kind card based on this theme.
As always, this is again a complete handmade card.

I Handcut a square card. And added 4 squares into it.

The pink hearts background is also handmade :) I spray painted it.

The squares are lined with silver glitter quilling strips which are handcut cut yet once again:))

Was wondering what to fill the squares with and that is when my heart said why not fill it up with a story...
a small cute love story may be?? :))

So here's what i did. I drew and painted the similar background of a tree branch with few leaves.
And the main characters of this story are.. OWLS :))

Yes OWLS.
I drew the owl images on a cardstock and hand painted them and stuck them onto the card. The pink owl images representing the female and blue owl images represent the male :).

I have also added the pink ribbon to the female owl images.. My very very small way of creating the awareness for breast cancer. :)

So here's the small love story.

(a) A lonely owl.. waiting for someone special (With half-heart)

(b)Suddenly there is someone on the same branch. (With the other half heart)

(3)Cupid hits and love happens. (the two heart pieces perfectlt fit each other)

(4)And now there is a small and very lovely and happy family :))

Ain't it sweet?? :))

This card is also my attempt for the campaign - "Save the Hooters".

I have also added the taglines to the Story Card :))

This card fits in the theme for the current Challenge Challenge #10...THE GAME is...Four Squares at "The Game" and I am linking the card for the same.

Since my project is also about hooters and little about breast cancer awareness, i am also linking it to CHALLENGE 130 ~ SAVE THE HOOTERS!! hosted by Craft Your Passion Challenges and DL.ART THANKFUL THURSDAY CHALLENGE - 20 (Owls) hosted by DL.ART.

And my project is also about a cute-love story, so linking it to Challenge 78 - Love is all around hosted by My Mum's Craft Shop Challenges and Challenge #35 Thinking of You hosted by Love to create challenge Blog.

My project has the pink based theme too, so linking it to Timeless Tuesday #189 hosted by Flourishes, Challenge 75 (Pink) hosted by Lexi's Creations , Challenge 42 - GO PINK hosted by Dream Valley Challenges , Think Pink hosted by CupCake craft Challenges , 2nd Annual Link Up for Pink!! hosted by Link Up for Pink and Pink Pink Pink!!! hosted by Stamping buotique.

For my hand sprayed background, i am linking it to Challenge #141 - No Patterned Paper hosted by Fab n Funky Challenges.

Linking it to 211 and more!! hosted by Clean and Simple Stamping

I hope my project is liked.

Thankyou so much for stopping by my blog.

Looking forward to hear the feedback from all of you.

Hi Peeps,

Practising Yoga, as it is said , is one of the best way to remain healthy and fit for life..
In short, it is the reset button for the body!!

Ain't it true??

Yoga is now being globally accepted and practised.

The benifits that it offers... from relaxation to increase in spirituality, from being one of the best form of meditation to being one of the main reasons for providing balance.. the list just goes on..

I have made the card below to depict the few yoga postures.. in short representing FITNESS.

Its a complete handmade card.

The alphabets are manually cut out of hand made paper. The postures are drawn and coloured in black :)

Also added varied colours atop and bottom of the card to mention a few benefits of Yoga.

I am linking this fitness project :) to 4CCC #109 - Health and Fitness hosted by 4 Crafty Chicks :))

Looking forward yet again to know feedback from all of you :)

Many Cheers,
Nazneen

Hi Peeps,

From long have been thinking of doing something different than the regular rectangular card..
Was wondering what to do, and that is when this idea hit my "oh so not creative" mind.
And going with the flow, here's what i have come up with..

A Flower filled heart :)))))

All the materials used in this project are from Itsy Bitsy :)

The heart shaped base and the handmade cover atop it are manually cut.
Flowers were the best option to fill in the heart. I wanted some vibrant shades and finally selected red and pink :) and  made some quilled flowers and added them to the heart.

Also added a little bling to the flowers as well.

The handmade heart shaped cover seemed plain.. so i added some swirls and twirls :) with little paint and lot of bling to it.

To the half folded heart cover, i added a bow.. that i have created for the first time :))

All in All, I wanted to convey that the heart, which is the bestest Gift given by God.. is beautiful.. Outside as well as Inside.. :)

And since, i have added 2 of the 4 B's.. that is -> Bow and Bling. i thought this would be the best entry from me to The ItsyBitsy BIG 'B' Challenge and will be linking my project to ItsyBitsy now.
